Our April board meeting has been rescheduled for Sunday, April 10th, at 6:30 at Chili Thai. If you’d like to learn more about ABC, or are interested in volunteering your time as a board member next year, we hope you’ll join us.

Our November ABC Board meeting is Thursday, November 4th, at 6:30 at Chili Thai. Our meetings are always open to anyone who is interested in learning more about ABC and what we’re doing for the highly capable learners in our District. We hope to see you there!

Ice Cream Social – October 12th

ABC will host it’s annual Ice Cream Social on Tuesday, October 12th from 6:30pm until 8:00pm at Stewart Elementary. Come see what we have planned for the year ahead and make yourself an ice cream sundae while you catch up with other QUEST and PAGE friends and families. We’ll kick off our annual membership drive, have information about conferences and events dedicated to gifted children and their families, and have a preview of what’s ahead for gifted education at the state level during the coming year. We will also be holding an election to fill our vacant Vice President and Secretary positions. We want to give you an opportunity to come ask us your questions and let us know how ABC can help you and your family have a successful 2010 – 2011 school year.

Because of Teacher In-Service Days, our October ABC Board meeting has been moved to Thursday, October 14th at 6:30 at Chili Thai. We will resume meeting on the first Thursday of the month in November. Everyone is welcome to join us. We’d love to see you there.

We Need Your Participation

ABC is seeking volunteers who would be interested in serving on the ABC Board during the 2010 – 2011 school year. We’re looking for people to serve as Vice-President and Secretary, in addition to people who would be willing to help current volunteers on the board. We will elect our next Vice-President and Secretary at our next ABC General Membership Meeting to be held on October 12th at Stewart Elementary preceeding our annual ice cream social.

If you would be interested in serving on the ABC Board, have any questions about what the jobs entail, or know of someone you think should be considered for one of the positions, please contact ABC President David Berg.

Please join us at 6:30 on Thursday, June 17th at Chili Thai for our final board meeting of the 2009 – 2010 school year. We will celebrate this year’s accomplishments and begin planning for next year. If you’ve wanted to become more involved in ABC, but weren’t sure how to go about it, this is the perfect opportunity. Everyone is welcome.

QUEST Open House and ABC General Membership Meeting, June 1st

Please join us on Tuesday, June 1st from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Maplewood Gym for the QUEST Open House and General Membership Meeting. ABC will be electing next year’s Board of Directors and approving next year’s budget. Following the brief meeting, we invite you to celebrate our children’s accomplishments with us. QUEST teachers will select some of the outstanding work completed by our students this year for display.

All current QUEST and PAGE students and their families, as well as all new QUEST and PAGE students for 2010 – 2011 and their families are invited to attend.

Two Sisters Concessionaires will be back with Kielbasa Meals available for purchase for $7, and Hot Dog Meals for $5. Also available for purchase will be Shave Ice (provided by the Foulon Family), cookies, and drinks. There will also be a 30 foot long inflatable obstacle course for QUEST families to enjoy.

This year has provided us with some significant challenges as we’ve adjusted to the district’s new regional model, but we’ve had some amazing victories. Thank you for helping us make those victories possible. Come celebrate all we’ve accomplished this year!

Volunteers are needed between 3:15pm and 6:00pm to help with setup for the event, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm to help us keep things running smoothly, and from 8:00pm to 8:30pm to help with cleanup. Please contact amyprez@comcast.net if you are available to volunteer.
