Many local businesses and government agencies have kicked off or will soon be kicking off their annual giving campaigns. Not only does this present an opportunity to make an impact on highly-capable education in the Puyallup School District through a tax-deductible contribution to ABC, often this presents an opportunity to increase the impact of your charitable contributions through matching programs. Because ABC is a recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit, if your company has a United Way campaign, you can write in the Academic Booster Club of Puyallup as the recipient of your donation.
As your family makes year-end decisions and sets priorities for helping our community, please consider the impact you can make through ABC. 93% of our income goes directly into the program, with only 7% of our budget allocated to administrative costs. Our funding priorities include the following:
- Classroom supplies – Did you know that your student’s planner was purchased by ABC, that every QUEST Regional class has a computer purchased by ABC, and that several have printers that ABC funded.
- Professional development for QUEST, Clustering Potential, and PAGE teachers and administrators — Training our teachers have received this year is being put into practice on a daily basis, and those lessons are being shared across the QUEST and PAGE programs.
- Seminars and other educational resources for families of highly capable students
- Program advocacy at the district- and state-levels
