Please mark your calendars for Gifted Education Day, February 5, 2010. Gifted Students and their families from across the State will be meeting in Olympia to meet with their legislators and other key decision makers to stress the value of programs like QUEST and PAGE. There will also be opportunities to connect with gifted advocates to learn more about what you can do to help support your gifted student. We will have more information for you as the day approaches.

We’ll add more about the details of Gifted Education Day shortly. Last year there were two large groups represented (Puyallup and Edmonds), along with individuals from a number of other areas. The Puyallup group was able to meet with Senator Kastama, Rep. Dammeier, and Rep. Morrell to urge their support for highly capable education. Families from the Edmonds district were also able to meet with their legislators. Members of OSPI, including Gayle Pauley, were also present to speak with our students and answer their questions. The event is organized by WCGE and NWGCA.
