Mrs. Franks, the 5th/6th QUEST Teacher at Meeker Elementary, recently shared a video with her students and their families that you might want to share with your children.  It certainly led to an interesting discussion at our house.  Often times our highly capable children are reluctant to try new things, or are so accustomed to being able to master tasks quickly that they aren’t prepared to handle tasks that really challenge them.    This quick video is a reminder that even some great figures didn’t always get things right the first time.

Mrs. Franks wrote:

Dear Families,

The students asked me to send them the link of the motivational video I showed in class during lunch on Monday or Tuesday. It is called “Famous Failures.” The message ties in perfectly with our “Habits of Mind” curriculum, particularly focusing on the traits of “Persistence” and “Taking Responsible Risks.” Enjoy!
