Every time I get together with parents of highly capable kids, I hear how much they want to have a way to communicate with other parents in their situation. At ABC, we’ve been searching for the best way to help with that, and we’re going to try a couple of new things.
This marks the first in a regular series of blog entries to share important information with you about what’s going on that will affect your child’s education. There are going to be significant changes to highly capable education programs across the state, and Puyallup is no exception. We need to make sure that we communicate our concerns to our legislators so our children don’t get lost. We’ll share more information about exactly what you can do, and how you can do it, shortly.
The other project we’ve been working on will be an on-line forum where parents can discuss their challenges and their successes. We know that it can be difficult at times to find people to talk to about what you’re going through, and we hope this will be a value to parents in Puyallup and across the state. The forum will be password protected, and registration will be required. We’ll make some features available to all, and provide some additional features and benefits to members of ABC. Look for an invitation to join the forum soon, and have a quick preview at http://www.questabc.org/forum.
