Friday, February 6th 2009 was Gifted Education Day in Olympia. Students, Parents, and Educators of highly capable children showed up in force to celebrate the difference that highly capable programs made in their lives and to urge legislators to protect our vulnerable programs from being eliminated. We were joined by members of the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction, Vice-Chair of the House Education Appropriations Committe Representative Pat Sullivan, House Education Committee Member and former Puyallup School Board Member Bruce Dammier, Senate Early Learning & K-12 Education Chair Rosemary McAuliffe and others.
